The Enhanced course is a 2-hour, case-based learning session, which follows the successful completion of the Fundamentals course, and focuses on:  Assessment and Pharmacology.

Course Objectives:
  • To provide support and guidance for nurses to utilize their skills and palliative knowledge more effectively
  • To learn from the experiences of practiced hospice palliative care leaders in a relaxed, safe and informal learning environment
  • To discuss possible future learning opportunities
  • Peer-reviewed, evidence-informed and up-to-date course content
  • Facilitation by experienced local palliative care nurse consultants
Open to NPs, RNs, & RPNs with an interest in developing their capacity related to hospice palliative care in a clinical setting.
The Enhanced course is a 2-hour, case-based virtual learning session. Two weeks prior to the online classroom session, learners will receive a welcome email containing:
  • A link to a Survey Monkey questionnaire
  • Reading materials
  • A Zoom link for connecting to the online classroom session

The June 25th Fundamentals Enhanced program is for nurses who have completed The Fundamentals of Hospice Palliative Care program but who DO NOT intend to take the Comprehensive Advanced Palliative Care Education (CAPCE) Program. Please note: Beginning Fall 2024, Enhanced will become part of CAPCE

Two weeks prior to the online classroom session, learners will receive a course welcome email regarding next steps.
